CHAMPION HOUSING

Not only are we looking to aid children in the system, but we are also focusing on children that are transitioning into adulthood and living on their own. This is a big jump; however, Fostering Champions wants to help and so can you. By donating a room or sponsoring a whole home. The goal is to gives homes to children that would otherwise be homeless.

MED CARE

Homeless foster teens often times find themselves sick, wounded, pregnant, or in need of medical advice and attention. Our medical team will provide prevention, assessment, and care to address the medical needs for our homeless foster teens. Through monthly check-ups, prevention meetings, and medical care appointments our Med Care team is dedicated to providing the best medical care for our homeless foster teens.

CAREER ASSISTANCE

For foster teens living on the streets, finding a job or career is close to impossible. Most have no education or anyone to guide them or show them how to write a resume, how to find a job, or how to prepare for an interview. Through our career assistance program aging out foster teens can gain skills in a trade, learn about Job searches and careers. We give them interview clothes, will provide practice interviews to coach them on how to land a job, we will help them prepare a resume, and we will intentionally build relationships with employers to employee our foster teens. We will do what it takes to help them land a job, start a career or start a business.

SCHOLARSHIPS

At Fostering Champions, it is our desire to foster a future for the next generation of foster children. One way we intend to do that is by providing a way for a child to continue their education, and achieve dreams that did not think were possible.

TRANSPORT SUPPORT

As foster children get older, their needs change. This initiative is created in order to provide older foster children with resources, they may not have otherwise. Such as, Housing Assistance. Meal Assistance, Utilities & Personal Expenses, Transportation & Relocation Fees, & Education & Technology Expenses

SWAG SPREE

As a foster child moves from home to home, things may become too old or damaged. Swag Spree is a way for Fostering Champions to help these children to buy new necessary items.

MENTORSHIPS

Our mentorship team is comprised of caring, enthusiastic, dedicated and caring adults who can provide friendship and encouragement while supporting them through life’s various transitions. Our mentors will provide support, guidance, someone to call, someone to hang out with, permanent bond, and teach life skills.

BECOME A FOSTER PARENT

We currently have an incredible need for foster parents. Many of the teens are getting moved out of the area. Many times the only bed they have is the DSS sofa or a group home, however, these Means can only be provided to one sibling. Meaning the children must be separated. These teens are desperate for a loving home, and you can help fulfill this need.

Reach out to Fostering Champions VA if you are interested and we will answer your questions and put you in contact with the Department of Social Services or a licensing agency.

BECOME A RESPITE PROVIDER

Foster parents face many challenges and at times they need to refresh and refuel. There is a need for listened families to provide respite care which offers foster parents a support system from other adults. You can contact us to find out more about being a respite provider today.

CREATE A FOSTER CARE MINISTRY

Only 5% of churches and Christians are engaged in foster care. Our vision is to see all churches involved in the foster care mission. The goal is for Fostering Champions to partner with churches across Virginia to develop mission opportunities. We enjoy team building and community. Involvement. We offer several programs that will allow your business, community, or group opportunities for hands on involvement. Bobby Canipe is the Visionary and Founder of Fostering Champions. His mission is spreading awareness of the devastating issues that aging out foster teens are facing alone and providing them with resources and tools to transform them into champions for life. His ultimate vision is to build studio homes that will house and provide multiple in home resources structured to prepare them for life.

Bobby founded Fostering Champions after experiencing and seeing the incredible need of aging out foster teens. At age 5, he and his sister were thrown into foster care after his mom passed away. Living his life in Portsmouth, Va. Foster Care System. After attending Liberty University, He was called into Full Time Youth Ministry. He has served as Student Pastor for 25 years. During the last 7 years He and His Wife have been blessed to foster 11 foster teens. Sensing God’s calling to extend his ministry to aging out foster teens, Bobby founded Fostering Champions with a passion to impact the lives of aging out foster teens.
